How to Register for myID + RAM (or PRODA) to Access the NDIS Provider Portal

If you are planning to become a registered NDIS provider, the first step is gaining secure access to the NDIS application portal. Until late 2025, providers can still use PRODA, but the new myID + RAM system is being rolled out and will eventually replace PRODA. This guide walks you through both options so you can choose the one most relevant today.

Why This Step Matters

You cannot submit an NDIS registration application or manage your provider account without logging into the official portals (e.g., myplace or the NDIS Commission portal). That’s why your first task is setting up your digital identity.

Option 1: Setting Up myID + RAM (Recommended)

1. Download myID App on your smartphone.
2. Register with your personal email.
3. Verify identity strength: Standard (IP2) for staff, Strong (IP3) for Principal Authorities.
4. Link your business in RAM using your ABN.
5. Authorise staff in RAM with their myID email.
6. Staff accept authorisation via 6-digit code.
7. Log into NDIS portals with myID.

Quick Checklist: myID app installed, ABN linked in RAM, staff authorised, NDIS portals accessed with myID.

Option 2: Setting Up PRODA (Interim Access)

1. Visit proda.humanservices.gov.au.
2. Register an account with your details.
3. Verify your email.
4. Provide identity documents.
5. Link your organisation (Principal Authority role).
6. Staff accept invitations.
7. Log into NDIS portals with PRODA.

Note: PRODA will be disabled by late 2025. Transition to myID + RAM soon.

Conclusion

Getting your myID + RAM (or PRODA) access sorted is the foundation step to starting your NDIS provider registration journey. In the next post, we’ll cover the actual NDIS application process: from preparing documents, to choosing your registration groups, to completing your self-assessment.
